Daily News Podcast
Three separate daily, two-host AI-narrated podcasts, all from one underlying service: an AI/LLM industry-news show, a stock-market recap, and a Germany-news show narrated in Malayalam. Each is generated and published automatically every morning, no human in the loop unless something needs a manual re-run.
Who this is for
Anyone who wants a few minutes of spoken catch-up on their topic of choice without reading a scroll of headlines:
-
Tech — new frontier model releases, Azure AI Foundry, Anthropic/Claude, OpenAI, and the rest of the AI/LLM space.
-
Stock — the macro data and central-bank moves, the earnings that mattered, and the stocks that moved.
-
Malayalam — Germany’s day (politics, economy, society), translated from German news sources and narrated entirely in Malayalam, for Kerala audiences.
Each show is deliberately short (a few minutes) and covers only the most newsworthy items for its own beat, ranked, not everything that happened to get published. Each is its own subscribable RSS feed, so it works with any podcast app exactly the way any other podcast does.
Why generated, not curated by hand
A human curating and recording three daily shows doesn’t scale for a single-operator project, and the interesting engineering problem here isn’t the narration itself — it’s making an unattended pipeline reliably produce something worth listening to every single day, for each show: sourcing enough genuinely relevant material, never repeating the same story twice, ranking by what actually matters rather than just recency, and degrading gracefully instead of publishing garbage (or nothing) when one piece fails. See Podcast Agent — Overview for how that’s actually built.
A small, unrelated bonus: weather and time
Every show also opens with a one-line weather-and-time check for a fixed location, sourced live from the weather and time agents covered in The Agent Fleet. It’s a small touch, not the point of the show — if either check is unavailable that day, the line is silently dropped rather than narrating a gap.
Also: an operator-facing view
Separately from the public shows themselves, there’s a read-only dashboard over the pipeline’s own recent activity and published-episode list, covering all three shows — useful for spot-checking what’s going on without needing direct cluster access. See Internal Tooling Behind SSO.
Architecture
Full mechanism — collection, deduplication, ranking, the two-host script, narration, and how it’s all deployed — lives in the Podcast Agent architecture module.
